Hello Akelas,

Welcome to the new Scouting year.  I know the boys are looking forward to a great year.  Very quickly here are a few announcements from the last meeting:

1.  All of the boys should have their uniforms with patches, etc… for next weeks meeting.  You can purchase the uniform and patches at the Boy Scout Store in Jacksonville:  521 Edgewood Avenue South Jacksonville, FL 32205-5359   (904) 388-0591

2.  Please have all the boys bring their books at the next meeting.  We will be finishing the Bobcat requirement for the new Bears and we will begin Achievement 3.

There will be work for the boys to do at home this year so please make sure that they complete their achievements and let one of the leaders know that it is complete so we can be sure to get the information into Scout Track.  (What’s Scout Track?  It is the online system that allows you, and the leaders, to enter information about what your Scout has achieved).

3.  Please be on the lookout for an email from Paula and Paul regarding next weeks meeting.  There is a plan to have the meeting at the pumpkin patch at Our Lady of Good Counsel.  THE MEETING WILL NOT BE HELD AT WARDS CREEK.  THE SPOOKTACULAR IS THURSDAY.  There should be time for the boys to both events if they would like.

4.  Make sure you sign up to do on-line popcorn sales and continue to sell your popcorn.  The goal is for every boy to sell a minimum of $250.  P.S.  most people will not refuse to support our troops with popcorn donations.

6.  We will be assigning meetings to the parents of each of the boys in a rotation to do an activity.  If you know you will be unable to attend during your week please use the list to contact the other parents and try to change dates.  If you have difficulty feel free to contact me so we can change your date.  Activities would include games, recreation, skits, songs, crafts, or electives and achievements from the Bear book that interest you.
