Popcorn Sale – Important

Hello Pack 44,
I am sending out the core of the information that I went over lastnight at our Popcorn Roundup and information about the Blitz that will be held this Saturday. Questions can be emailed to me and I will respond as soon as possible. For those who came last night I want to thank you, participation is the key to getting all you can out of this program.
Just a quick recap, the popcorn program is very important to our pack and teaches our children many skills that will last a life time. This program can fund our entire year and allow us to be able to do more activities without out of pocket expenses from us parents. This is also a chance for your scout to earn patches, belt loops, and rewards as well. The most important thing here is that you will get to spend unforgetable time with your child that you and him will never forget. I know this from expiriece!
The Popcorn Blitz will be held this Saturday from 10am-12pm. Please meet me at the Publix parking lot near CVS at 9:45 sharp. From there we will break off into teams. I have attached the schedule for what neighborhood you will be in, please review to know where you will be. I wanted to get us out of our niehbohood so that we could save our streets for each individual scout that live there. If we are going to your nieghborhood on the Blitz, let me know and we can at least try to keep off your street. Please bring your order form and a pen. Please review the Scout Door Presentation and roll play with your son. If your Scout does not ask for the sale, he may not get as many sales (Sales 101).
I have attached our popcorn program details so PLEASE familiarize yourself with it.

BALOO Training Offered for Cub Scout Leaders

BALOO – Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for Cub Scout leaders is a one-day training event that introduces participants to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities, particularly Pack camping. This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack camp-out, and it is required that at least one adult per pack complete BALOO training in order to apply for tour permits. BALOO training is offered by individual districts.

The 2 attached flyers show separate training dates offered in the North Florida Council. Any Cub Scout leader from any District may register and attend.

BALOO stands for Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation.

The list shows other BALOO trainings offered in other areas of the NFC as the year progresses. Pick your spot!

Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood Unit Commissioner, Kim Pearce

Pack Meeting

Our last pack meeting until we meet again in September is the last Thursday of May. This event is a “bring friend” event. Each scout is being asked to bring a cub scout age friend (and their parents if they are available) to the Pack Meeting. We will be showing the slide show that was shown during the Blue and Gold Banquet and each den will be performing a skit or song. We want to show these “new” boys how much fun scouting is and hopefully they will want to join us in the Fall. At this meeting the scouts will be getting the awards and recognitions earned since the B&G and hopefully the BB beltloop will be available!!!!

Please let your den leaders know if you are going to be attending this Pack meeting and if you will be bringing a friend along.

Pack Meeting on Thursday

Hello Scouts,

I just wanted to make sure you were all aware of what what happeing this Thursday. We will NOT be holding a “traditional” pack meeting. Instead the boys will be making gifts for Mother’s Day. The boys should be able to complete the crafts with minimal help. While both parent’s are not needed, if one can plan on staying and helping out it would be appreciated. Since we are making gifts for mom, if a dad can stay the gift can be a surprise for mom.

Don’t forget your Camp Cards and money. They are due on Thursday.
