BALOO – Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for Cub Scout leaders is a one-day training event that introduces participants to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities, particularly Pack camping. This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack camp-out, and it is required that at least one adult per pack complete BALOO training in order to apply for tour permits. BALOO training is offered by individual districts.
The 2 attached flyers show separate training dates offered in the North Florida Council. Any Cub Scout leader from any District may register and attend.
BALOO stands for Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation.
The list shows other BALOO trainings offered in other areas of the NFC as the year progresses. Pick your spot!
Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood Unit Commissioner, Kim Pearce
Our last pack meeting until we meet again in September is the last Thursday of May. This event is a “bring friend” event. Each scout is being asked to bring a cub scout age friend (and their parents if they are available) to the Pack Meeting. We will be showing the slide show that was shown during the Blue and Gold Banquet and each den will be performing a skit or song. We want to show these “new” boys how much fun scouting is and hopefully they will want to join us in the Fall. At this meeting the scouts will be getting the awards and recognitions earned since the B&G and hopefully the BB beltloop will be available!!!!
Please let your den leaders know if you are going to be attending this Pack meeting and if you will be bringing a friend along.

Hello Pack 44
Please read the following email from council. If you have a car you would like to donate, please bring it to next week’s den meeting at Wards Creek. I will take it and hand it in. Thank you.

Attention Derby Car Race Participants!
If you have old derby cars that you have no interest in keeping, please consider donating to Kate Carpenter for the Special Needs Camporee in the fall. If you would like to donate past cars, please bring to the council office or bring to Roundtable and give to your District Executive to bring back to the council.
This fall at our Special Needs Camporee, we are going to try to have one car per child at the camporee. They will get to race the cars at the camporee this year.
Thank you!
Kate Carpenter

Hello Scouts,
I just wanted to make sure you were all aware of what what happeing this Thursday. We will NOT be holding a “traditional” pack meeting. Instead the boys will be making gifts for Mother’s Day. The boys should be able to complete the crafts with minimal help. While both parent’s are not needed, if one can plan on staying and helping out it would be appreciated. Since we are making gifts for mom, if a dad can stay the gift can be a surprise for mom.
Don’t forget your Camp Cards and money. They are due on Thursday.
Paula
Hello scouts,
If you took Camp Cards to sell ALL MONEY IS DUE THURSDAY. If you have cards that did not sell, I need them back. I have to pay council for the cards or return the cards to council. If you do not return unsold cards, you will need to buy them.
